Gilbert & Sullivan Society Programme 97th Season 2019-20

Dear Members,

You will be aware that the  Corona virus has suddenly snowballed and advice from the  National Health Service  is very clear that the elderly are the most vulnerable and have been advised to stay at home and avoid gatherings of people.  We have 3 more meetings of the G&S Society this season plus International G&S Day but our priority must be to our member's and artiste’s safety.  Both Abby and Sylvia, our forthcoming artistes, have expressed concerns and in view of this and like many other organisations at the moment, we have made the decision not to go ahead with at least the next 2 meetings scheduled on Sat 28th March and Sat 4th  April.  A decision about the May meetings will be made in April and members should consult this website for updates.

It has been necessary to act fairly quickly in order to inform our membership as widely as possible although we are sure many would choose to stay at home in the current climate.   I am sure you will agree that this step is sensible and necessary although very disappointing.  In order to try and make up for the 2 missing meetings we will look at putting on  additional events  next season if possible with the artistes we have had to cancel.

We are really sorry about this and hope you all stay save and we will be able to resume normal meetings as soon as possible
