"Pirates of Penzance"
Saturday 29th February 2020  7.15pm

Celebrity principals and amateur chorus benefit concert to support Nick Sales.
St Michael's Church, Chester Square, SW1W 9EF - this is 10 minutes walk from Victoria Station, and Sullivan was organist and Chief Musician there until 1869. 

Cast includes: Richard Suart (Major-General) Bruce Graham (Sergeant), Matthew Kellet (Pirate King), David Menezes (Frederick), Elizabeth Menezes (Mabel), Alexandra Hazard (Kate), Serenna Wagner (Ruth) and Benjamin Cox as Musical Director. 

David Menezes has organised and is coordinating  this event.

UK launch of  I Have a Song to Sing, by Diana Burleigh held by the The Tait Memorial Trust with a concert of music inspired by Viola, Lady Tait including musical gems from operetta and G&S inspired by her life as a leading star of the stage

Sir Arthur Sullivan Society 24th Sullivan Festival 21st – 23rd May
This very special weekend will be held in Glasgow, to coincide with Scottish Opera’s new productions of Utopia Ltd. and The Gondoliers at the Glasgow Theatre Royal. This will be the first professional Utopia since 2011 and only the third in Britain since 1900. Theatrical Adventures   are offering 3 river cruises in 2020:
The Nile  (17th – 27th Feb) including Abydos, Dendara, Karnak, Luxor Museum, Valley of Kings, Aswan with on board nightly entertainment from Simon Butteriss, Rachel Harland, Roberta Morrell and Andrew Nicklin.  Opportunity to participate in a semi-staged The Pirates of Penzance.
The Danube  (9th – 16th Nov) A repeat of the popular Orchestra Cruise from Budapest to Bucharest. A cruise with 16-piece orchestra.
The Douro (9th – 16th Nov)   Portugal’s ‘River of Gold’ so called because of the effect of the sun on the water.

New productions from  The National G&S Opera Co. of Patience, HMS Pinafore, The Pirates of Penzance and The Sorcerer plus a special Pro-Am performance of The Emerald Isle (Sullivan & Hood) with performances at both venues.
